What We Collect
When you use TrueCellCost, we may collect:
- • Calculator inputs: ZIP code, line count, data usage, discount eligibility. These are used to compute results and are not stored permanently unless you create an account.
- • Email address: Only if you sign up for our newsletter or create an account.
- • Usage analytics: Page views, calculator completions, and click-through events via PostHog and Vercel Analytics. No PII is included in analytics events.
- • Affiliate clicks: When you click through to a carrier, we log the click (plan, source page, timestamp) for attribution. No personal information is included.
What We Don't Collect
- • Your name, phone number, or address (unless you create an account)
- • Your wireless bill data (unless you use the bill upload feature, in which case see below)
- • Payment information (we don't sell anything directly)
- • Location data beyond your self-entered ZIP code
How We Use Your Data
- • To compute personalized plan recommendations
- • To send newsletter emails (only if you opted in)
- • To improve our calculator and plan data accuracy
- • To track affiliate conversions for revenue
We do not sell your data. We do not share personal information with carriers or advertisers.
Cookies & Tracking
We use Vercel Analytics (cookie-free, anonymized) and PostHog for product analytics. We do not use Google Analytics or third-party advertising cookies. If we add cookies in the future, we will implement a consent banner before any non-essential cookies are set.
Affiliate Disclosure
TrueCellCost earns commissions when you click through to a carrier and sign up. Our plan rankings are based on total cost to you, not commission rate. See our Methodology page for details.
Your Rights
You can request deletion of any data we hold by emailing james@truecellcost.com. California residents have additional rights under CCPA; contact us to exercise them.
